VTV published the news on its own English service on 4 September and Eurovoix reported the internal selection in full on 6 September, so the Tuổi Trẻ report this list carried as unconfirmed is now broadcaster-confirmed. Vietnam is the fifth of eleven countries to name an artist. Her song is not chosen: five teams of writers and producers compete at The Sound of Vietnam on VTV3 on 3 October, with Huy Tuấn as music director. TV5 Cambodia had been pointing at "early September", so this is a six-week slip, and it makes Cambodia the last country to choose. All eleven selections are now dated for the first time since the field was finalised.

How the Eurovision Asia 2026 Grand Final Will Work
Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026 is a single Grand Final held on Saturday 14 November 2026 at the IdeaLive arena inside the BRAVO BKK entertainment complex in Bangkok's Rama 9 district. There are no semi-finals in the inaugural edition: all 10 confirmed broadcasters send one entry directly to the live televised final. Bangkok 2026 — Venue, Host Broadcaster & Production
The host venue is IdeaLive at BRAVO BKK, a 4,234-seat live entertainment hall on the 5th floor of the BRAVO BKK complex in Bangkok's Rama 9 district. BRAVO BKK opened in 2024 as one of Bangkok's newest mixed-use entertainment venues, and IdeaLive is its flagship concert space. At 4,234 seats it is roughly 26% the capacity of the Wiener Stadthalle (~16,000) that staged Eurovision 2026 in May — Eurovision Asia is being built around a more intimate, TV-first format rather than the European contest's arena scale.
Host broadcaster. The contest is produced for Thai TV by Channel 3 (BEC World), the largest commercial broadcaster in Thailand. Channel 3 is part of the BEC World public listed group and reaches roughly 95% of Thai households. Several mainstream press outlets in the first 48 hours after the EBU announcement misreported the host broadcaster as Thai PBS — the correct host is Channel 3. Why Eurovision Asia Exists — The Strategy Behind The Launch
Eurovision Asia is the first sustained territorial expansion of the Eurovision brand beyond Europe. The intimate 4,234-seat IdeaLive venue is part of that calculus: the production is engineered for camera and stream rather than arena spectacle.
Long-term strategy.Martin Green has been explicit that the goal in year one is sustainability rather than scale: "Let's start small and grow." A single Grand Final, 11 countries, one venue. Bangladesh's Voice of Bangladesh — 12 finalists, hosted by Tahsan Khan — completed its audition round on 30 August and airs on 30 September, having already moved once from 23 August. Mongolia selects on 10 October, and Cambodia's Finest Voice — the last show to be dated, confirmed on 3 September — closes the calendar on 17 October, streamed on the official Eurovision YouTube channel.
Why is Eurovision Asia happening now?
The EBU has explored Asian Eurovision formats for nearly a decade, including a shelved Eurovision Asia-Pacific concept with SBS Australia (2017–2019). Voxovation organisers say the 2026 launch is engineered specifically to avoid the structural mistakes of the American Song Contest (NBC, 2022), which abandoned country-vs-country competition and the Eurovision brand name. Eurovision Asia keeps both: countries compete against each other under the Eurovision Song Contest name.

What does the winner of Eurovision Asia 2026 get?
Beyond the trophy, the Eurovision Asia 2026 winner will perform at the Eurovision Song Contest 2027 in Bulgaria — the first formal bridge between the Asian and European contests. Executive producer Assaf Blecher has also said the organisers are targeting 12 to 14 participating countries for future editions, with Kazakhstan publicly exploring participation.
Who hosts Eurovision Asia 2027?
Unlike the European contest, the winning country does NOT automatically host the following edition. Eurovision Asia uses a Junior Eurovision-style bidding process — broadcasters interested in hosting 2027 submit bids after the November 2026 contest. EBU and Voxovation evaluate venue, infrastructure, broadcast capacity, and financial backing before selecting the next host.
