Voice of Bangladesh has its field: ten acts will compete on 30 September for the country’s first ticket to Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026. Eurovision Asia published the line-up on 15 September. The ten are Beatmosphere, Benazir Zilani, Krishan Barman, Lubaina Afnan, Naim Imran Sharot, Nusrat Jahan Kriti, Pulak Adhikary, SUBCONSCIOUS, The Kushiyara Waves and Vintage Theory. Streaming platform Bongo picked them with its TV partner NTV, and the winner goes to the Grand Final at IdeaLive in Bangkok on 14 November.

Two things you may have read have changed. The field is ten, not twelve, and the official voting split is 40/40/20, not the 50/50 many outlets printed, ourselves included. We read the official announcement, all ten artist profiles and the official voting terms, then checked each act against Bangladeshi press. Here is what holds up and what does not.

One name needs a note. The official news article, Eurovoix and ESCXTRA all list “Nami Imran Sharot”. The official profile page and The Independent’s 2015 report both say Naim Imran Sharot, so we use Naim. It is almost certainly a typo in the list that the fan press copied.
Who the ten are: rock veterans, a cappella and new folk fusion
This is not a field of reality-show unknowns. At least four acts have careers going back ten years or more. SUBCONSCIOUS formed in 1998. Pulak Adhikary was a top finalist on Close Up 1 in 2006 and, according to his profile, has since worked on more than 200 films. Naim Imran Sharot has been making music since 2007, and his profile says he moves between rock, pop, jazz, psychedelic folk and indie. Beatmosphere started in 2009.
Beatmosphere is the act to watch for staging. The group makes every sound with voices and bodies: layered harmonies, beatboxing, body percussion and vocal copies of instruments. Their profile says they normally have nine members but will perform as six for Voice of Bangladesh. That matches the six-performer limit that applies in Bangkok.
The folk side of the field has two very different acts. Krishan Barman is a traditional Bengali folk singer who is still studying folk at Chhayanaut in Dhaka. The Kushiyara Waves formed this year and mix Bengali folk with modern jazz. In our Bangladesh country page we argued that folk fusion is Bangladesh’s highest-ceiling route in Bangkok. Two of the ten acts are in that lane.
On the rock and pop side, Vintage Theory had Kaata Ghaye Noon named one of Dhaka’s best releases of 2025 by The Daily Star. Benazir Zilani has the biggest streaming claim in the field. Her profile says Shesh Kanna, written when she was 14, has passed 100 million streams across platforms. We could confirm the song and its credits but not that figure.
We know least about Lubaina Afnan and Nusrat Jahan Kriti. Their profiles are short and we found no independent press on either, so we will not guess at their sound. The 18 September previews will tell us more.
How the Voice of Bangladesh final works on 30 September
Here is what Eurovision Asia has published. The final is on Wednesday 30 September at 17:00 CEST. The official article gives the time as “21:00 BST”. In this case BST means Bangladesh Standard Time (UTC+6), not British Summer Time, so UK viewers should tune in at 16:00. Bongo and NTV carry it in Bangladesh, and the Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel streams it everywhere else. Tahsan Khan hosts.
On voting, the 15 September article says: “Voting is free and you’ll be given eight votes to distribute between at least three songs.” Votes go through the Eurovision Asia website. With ten songs, you have to back at least three, so no one can put all eight votes on a single act. With only the free eight, the most one song can get is six. The terms cap each voter at 18 votes per show and 16 per song (section 6.1). As we explained in our piece on the eight-votes, three-songs system, the rule dilutes big fan bases.
Paid votes also apply. The Bangladesh announcement mentions only the free eight, but the official voting terms cover every national selection show and the Grand Final. Section 6 lets voters buy booster packs, which count the same as free votes, and section 6.1 caps them at 10 paid votes per person per show.
Voice of Bangladesh voting: 40% jury, 40% home, 20% world
Neither the 2 August launch article nor the 15 September announcement gives a weighting, but the official Eurovision Asia voting terms (updated 28 August 2026) do. Section 8.1 says every national selection show is decided by three separately ranked pools: 40% from voters living in the host country, 40% from that show’s jury, and 20% from voters living anywhere else. The rest-of-world pool always counts, however few people vote in it.
That contradicts the 50/50 figure in Eurovoix’s coverage. It first appeared in a 14 August report credited to “Eurovision Bangladesh”. Eurovoix’s 30 August report on the final audition round, sourced to a social media post by juror Ankhi Alamgir, repeats that the winner “will be determined by 50% jury voting and 50% public voting”, and so does the 15 September report.
50/50 is the Bangkok Grand Final rule, set out in section 8.2 of the same terms, and fan outlets often copy it into national final coverage. Our 4 August piece did too. For 30 September, the official weighting is 40/40/20. The public holds 60% in total, but the jury is the single biggest block, and the 20% abroad could help whichever act travels best online.

The winner then has 45 days until the Grand Final, a short runway if the song needs reworking for the three-minute limit.
Where Bangladesh sits in the Eurovision Asia 2026 field
Bangladesh’s show is the seventh of the eleven national selections on the official calendar. It falls in a busy stretch. Laos picks Thinla’s song over two nights on 23 and 24 September, and host Thailand holds Thailand’s Chosen One on 27 September. After Bangladesh, Vietnam chooses Tóc Tiên’s song on 3 October. One date has moved since our last calendar update: Nepal Decides is now on 7 October on the official calendar, not 19 September. Our national selection calendar has the earlier dates. That leaves six of eleven countries with an artist and three with a song. Thailand, the other final still to come with a published list, also has ten acts on the official site.
Voice of Bangladesh odds: there is no market
We checked Polymarket’s Gamma API on 17 September 2026. The only open Eurovision event was Eurovision 2027 Participants, with 14 country contracts and about $16.7K of lifetime volume. A search for “eurovision asia” returned only that market and closed 2025 and 2026 contest markets. There is no Eurovision Asia market of any kind: no winner market, no Bangladesh market and no market on the national final. We have no odds to give you, and we will not suggest a favourite as if prices existed.
Our read, without a price: a spread public vote favours broad appeal over the biggest fan base. SUBCONSCIOUS, Pulak Adhikary and Naim Imran Sharot bring jury credibility, while Beatmosphere and The Kushiyara Waves have the sound most likely to stand out in Bangkok. With 40% jury, 40% home public and 20% abroad, both kinds of strength count.

Is Voice of Bangladesh decided 50% jury and 50% public vote?
No. Eurovision Asia’s voting terms (section 8.1, updated 28 August 2026) weight every national selection show 40% domestic public vote, 40% jury and 20% rest-of-world public vote. Eurovoix reported 50/50, citing a juror’s social media post in its 30 August article, but 50/50 is the Bangkok Grand Final rule (section 8.2).
