The host nation has named its ten. Channel 3 announced the field for Thailand's Chosen One at a press conference on 19 August 2026. The selection runs on Sunday 27 September — and it runs at IdeaLive in Bangkok, the same hall that will stage the Eurovision Asia Grand Final seven weeks later.

No other participant gets that. It is the most underrated advantage in the contest.
The ten acts
Channel 3 describes the line-up as Thai divas alongside a new generation of T-pop artists, and the names bear that out. Gam Wichayanee and Zom Marie are established vocal names; Jetset'er and Retrospect bring band credentials, the latter from the rock end; Wonderframe, JMNK, MONICA and the pairings Mang & Daou and TIGGER & TARA VIIS sit in the contemporary T-pop space.
Song titles have not been released. That is the notable gap. The Philippines put all ten entries on streaming platforms thirteen days before its final; South Korea released all eight twelve days out. Thailand has announced artists and, five weeks from its show, has published no songs. If Channel 3 holds the entries back much longer it compresses the window in which the Rest of the World audience can actually listen — and that audience is a scoring input, not just commentary.
The jury
Five members: Pu BLACKHEAD, Kru Ouan, Khun Tongneng, Tan LIPTA and Boy PEACEMAKER.
That is a rock-and-pop-heavy bench drawn from working Thai musicians rather than television personalities — Blackhead, Lipta and Peacemaker are all acts in their own right. Juries staffed by performers tend to reward vocal control and arrangement over spectacle, which cuts slightly against the flashier end of the T-pop field.
The home-venue advantage nobody is pricing
Thailand selects its act at IdeaLive on 27 September. Eurovision Asia's Grand Final is at IdeaLive on 14 November.
Work through what that gives the Thai entry. It performs a competitive three minutes in the actual final venue, on the actual stage footprint, seven weeks before the contest. It learns how the room sounds, how the lighting rig behaves, where the camera positions are and how a live Bangkok audience responds — all of it in advance, all of it under competitive conditions rather than in rehearsal.
Every other delegation arrives in November having seen the hall in a technical rehearsal at most. In a contest decided 50/50 by jury and public where staging is a substantial share of the impression, that is a real edge, and it compounds the ordinary host-nation advantages of budget, airtime and home crowd.
The counterweight is that host entries carry expectation, and Thailand has no Eurovision track record to calibrate against. Nobody — including Channel 3 — knows how a Thai act reads to a pan-Asian jury, because that jury has never sat before.
The format question, unresolved
Channel 3 has not published the voting split for Thailand's Chosen One.
As with Korea, several outlets have reported the Grand Final's 50% jury / 50% public alongside coverage of the national final, which is easy to misread as the national-final rule. The three selections that have confirmed their own weighting — Bhutan, the Philippines and Mongolia — all use 40% jury, 40% domestic public, 20% Rest of the World.
There is one wrinkle specific to the host. In the Grand Final, viewers cannot vote for their own country. If that principle carried into a national selection it would be incoherent — every voter would be voting for their own country — so the domestic public component clearly operates normally here. But it does mean the Thai public gets to influence its own entry on 27 September and then cannot vote for it on 14 November, which is a slightly awkward asymmetry for the host nation and worth remembering when reading any early Thai enthusiasm as evidence of contest-wide support.
Market status
Unchanged: no operator has opened a book on Eurovision Asia or on any of its national finals, and there are still no Eurovision Asia markets on Polymarket. Our Eurovision Asia hub tracks that daily. The likeliest trigger remains the Bangkok field completing in mid-October.
Thailand is the participant most likely to be underestimated when those books do open, precisely because the host-venue effect described above does not show up in any of the inputs a first price is usually built from.
