Wikipedia and most fan summaries quote only the 50/50 split, which covers one show out of the season. On 17 September, six days before Laos opens its vote, I read the official Voting Terms, the Booster Pack Terms and every remaining show’s announcement. Each rule below cites its section number.

How to vote in Eurovision Asia 2026, step by step
The vote is run by Voxovation Inc., the contest organiser, and Zoop supplies the technology. Section 1 of the official Voting Terms and Conditions, last updated 28 August 2026, is blunt about it: “Your vote is cast with us, not with Zoop.” The process is the same for every show:
- Find the show. Every national selection streams live on the Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel; the calendar below has the times.
- Open eurovisionasia.com/vote in a web browser. Section 4: voting is “available on the web only”, not in the Zoop mobile apps.
- Sign in with Google, Apple or Privy. You must be 18 or over (§3.1).
- Give the Voting Consent. A full Zoop account is optional.
- Complete the automated check. You may be sent a one-time code by email.
- Pick at least three different entries and confirm before the window closes.
Timing is the step people miss. Under section 5, each window opens and closes “at the times announced on air and on the voting page”, and votes outside it are not counted. For the Philippines and South Korea, the organiser said it would open during the broadcast. A vote counts only once it is recorded, so do not leave it to the last seconds.
Who can vote in Eurovision Asia, and from where
For national selections the answer is almost everyone. Section 3 says voting in the National Song Selection shows “is open to anyone, wherever you live”. You do not need to be in Asia, and you do not need to live in the country holding the show. A viewer in London can help choose Laos’s song. So can a viewer in Manila.
The Grand Final is also open to anyone, with one restriction. Under section 3.3, “you may not vote for the entry representing the territory in which you are resident.” The test is where you live, not your passport. Someone living in Bangkok cannot vote for Thailand but can vote for any other entry. Someone living in Germany or Australia, outside the 11 participating countries, can vote for any entry at all.
Section 3.2 excludes insiders: staff of Voxovation, broadcasters, production companies and sponsors, contestants and their teams, and jurors in shows they judge. Section 7.1 bans VPNs, spoofed locations, multiple accounts, bots and vote trading, and Voxovation can void votes even after a result (§7.2).
The 8 votes, 3 entries rule, with worked examples
Section 6 gives every eligible voter 8 free votes per show. Section 6.1 then adds the rule that trips people up: your votes “must be spread across at least three different entries: in the Grand Final, three different countries’ entries; in a National Song Selection show, three different songs. Votes that do not meet this requirement will not be counted.”
In a ten-act show such as Thailand’s Chosen One or Voice of Bangladesh, that leaves plenty of freedom. In Laos it is decisive: Thinla performs exactly three songs, so every counted ballot backs all three. The graphic below shows which ballots count.
The caps in section 6.1 are 18 votes per person per show, 16 per entry and 10 paid votes (also 10 per payment method). Votes above a cap are not counted; paid excess is refunded. So a favourite can get at most 6 of your 8 free votes, or 16 of 18 with a booster. Europe is watching this system closely, as I explained in our piece on the eight-votes, three-songs rule.
Eurovision Asia booster packs: price, limits and refunds
The Booster Pack Terms and Refund Policy, also dated 28 August 2026, set out the paid side. A booster pack is 10 extra votes for one specific show, and section 3 allows one pack per show. Paid votes weigh the same as free ones, and unused votes expire, unrefunded, when the window closes. Stripe processes payment; your statement reads EUROVISION ASIA.

Rest of World voters pay in euros, so 60 cents a vote before tax, plus any bank conversion fee. Two gaps: Mongolia has no price listed, although its show is on the calendar, and under section 5.2 Grand Final pricing “has not yet been set”.
Refunds are narrow. Packs are non-refundable once credited, including when your entry loses (§7.1). Section 7.2 refunds you for votes never credited, double charges, votes over a cap, a vote cancelled and not re-run, or a failure on Voxovation’s side. Claim by email within 30 days (§7.3). A refund never reopens a result (Voting Terms §10).
How Eurovision Asia voting is scored: 40/40/20 vs 50/50
This is the part most coverage gets wrong. Section 2 applies the terms to both the national selections and the Grand Final, and section 8 then gives them different scoring. The eurovision.com how-to-vote page confirms the Rest of World vote “is being incorporated into each of the National Selection Shows”, and says Grand Final voting details “will be announced soon”.

National selections. Section 8.1 ranks each pool independently before combining them, so overseas fans can never decide more than 20% of the result, however many vote. The Rest of World pool counts however few join in. Ties: the jury breaks a tie on domestic points, a tie on combined points goes to more domestic points, and the domestic ranking settles a Rest of World tie.
Grand Final. Section 8.2 combines the public vote and jury 50/50 for each participating territory. Viewers elsewhere are added as “an additional Rest of World vote” with no jury. The terms do not say how much that Rest of World vote weighs against the 11 territories, or how each territory’s result becomes points. I would not guess until the organiser publishes Grand Final details. Tie-breaks mirror the national rules, with the Domestic vote ranked first.
Two shows need a caveat. The Laos announcement mentions only the audience vote and names no jury. And VTV has not explained how The Sound of Vietnam will pick Tóc Tiên’s song, so do not assume a public vote settles it. Seven national selections remain. The official site gives start times in CEST with a local time alongside; I have added UK time, since Britain and central Europe both stay on summer time until 25 October. The last column says only what the organiser has published about each vote.

*Nepal has two times. The eurovisionasia.com schedule lists 15:15 CEST (19:00 NPT), its slot before the move from 19 September; the official YouTube stream and Eurovoix say 15:45 CEST (19:30 NPT). Tune in at 15:15 to be safe. And the official “21:00 BST” for Bangladesh means Bangladesh Standard Time: 16:00 in the UK.
Laos is the only show with a published window length: “24 hours to cast their vote” between its two episodes. For the rest, voting happens during the live broadcasts. Common Eurovision Asia voting mistakes
- All 8 votes on one song. The strongest-feeling ballot is the one that never counts. Give two other entries a vote each.
- Two favourites. A 4 / 4 split fails too. Three entries is the floor.
- Using the Zoop app. Voting is web-only.
- The 50/50 myth. In national selections the jury holds 40%, and the home public outweighs the rest of the world two to one.
- Voting for home in Bangkok. Not allowed in the Grand Final.
- A VPN “to be safe”. Banned, and voided paid votes are not refunded.
- Voting late. Votes after the announced close are not counted.
Eurovision Asia betting: is there a market?
Not yet. I checked Polymarket’s Gamma API on 17 September 2026, and the only open event under its Eurovision tag was Eurovision 2027 Participants, with 14 country contracts. There is no Eurovision Asia market of any kind, and I have not found a bookmaker pricing the contest. So there are no odds to quote, and we will not invent any.

Why was my Eurovision Asia vote not counted?
The likeliest reason is that your votes covered fewer than three entries. Votes outside the window or above the caps (18 per person, 16 per entry) are not counted either, and VPN or multi-account votes can be voided.
When can I vote for Laos’s Eurovision Asia song?
Sieng Lao: The One airs on Wednesday 23 September 2026 at 15:30 CEST (14:30 UK, 20:30 ICT). The organiser says audiences then have 24 hours to vote before the results show on Thursday 24 September at 15:30 CEST.
