Eurovision has long sung praise for difference. Basel 2025 makes each space fit for everyone. Venues have no barriers, and special care supports people with sensory needs. Staff learn to face racism, disability issues, and LGBTIQ concerns. A strong Duty of Care Protocol and a fresh Code of Conduct add to safety. Artists perform knowing they are safe, and all feel respected.
Sustainable Practices in Catering and Waste Management
ESC catering takes a green route. Ingredients come from farms within 150 km. At least 75% of meals are vegetarian or vegan, which helps local agriculture and cuts transport work. Reusable tableware stands against waste, and extra food goes to those in need. On the waste side, Basel cuts single-use items. The event favors materials that get reused or recycled. Volunteers, called Sustainability Heroes, lead waste sorting and recycling. They work close to the crowd to keep the site clear and efficient.
